On Thursday October 18th, CALGARY+acumen is hosting its annual DIGNITY Calgary photography exhibition and auction. This one-night event will bring together the city's impact investment and social enterprise communities, for an entertaining evening that benefits Acumen Fund, a not-for-profit venture fund eradicating global poverty.
VENUEThe main event will be hosted in Calgary’s iconic Simmons Building in the East Village. Event highlights include delicious wine fromVine Arts, beer fromVillage Brewery, and stunning photography for live and silent auction. The Simmons Building is located at 618 Confluence Way SE.
PHOTOGRAPHSThe event features photos from theNuru Project, a group using photography for social change, who have contributed 20 prints taken in India, Pakistan and East Africa by world-renowned photographers to be sold via live and silent auction.
HOW TO TURN "GOOD" INTO A COMPETITIVE ADVANTAGE (entrepreneurs only pre-event)
Prior to the main event,CALGARY+acumenandStartup Calgarywill host entrepreneurs at Assembly co-work space, where they will walk through the practical realities of how they can turn "Good" business practices into a real competitive advantage. Calgary-basedDIRTT, a company that has been lauded for its ability to achieve high growth and high social and environmental impact, will be on site to share practical frameworks for decision-making as well as some war stories from their own growth experiences.
For entrepreneurs who are curious about how to incorporate good practices into their business and why it truly matters, this is one event you won’t want to miss.The Entrepreneurs pre-session starts at 5:00 PM sharp at Assembly, located at 119 14th street NW (14th street and Kensington Road NW). Please arrive 15 minutes early to get registered, grab a seat/beer, and meet your fellow entrepreneurs.

WHERE THE FUNDS GO 100% of all ticket proceeds and on-site event sales go directly to Acumen Fund. 50% of all photo sales go to Acumen Fund with 25% to support Nuru Project and 25% to support the photographer of the print. DIGNITY has been hosted 12 times in 10 cities around the world raising over $150K for Acumen Fund.
